Agbami Ijiyokun made in the 38th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Shen Xun Yu however managed to control. 40 minutes into the match, Real Cartagena's Rioja Pedrueca sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Billy Tunberg narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Dag Ahlrot charged in rather forcefully in the 42nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dag Ahlrot the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Dag Ahlrot kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Brighouse FC's Sochi Ugochukwu got a free kick in the 46th minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Real Cartagena's Harris Geraets was substituted for Dag Ahlrot. In the 61st match minute, Brighouse FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sochi Ugochukwu to maneuver through the defense. After 64 played minutes Real Cartagena got a freekick which was hit by Wictor Vestberg. A collision led to Brighouse FC getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Ebelechukwu Agoda hit a great ball. Shen Xun Yu's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Edwin Devine firmly grabbed it by the left post. Alonzo Helguera hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Edwin Devine made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sochi Ugochukwu in the 79th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roderick Blind in the 82nd minute of play forced Brighouse FC's goalkeeper Billy Tunberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 85th minute Ebelechukwu Agoda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edwin Devine saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Brighouse FC getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Eloka Waziri hit a great ball. The supporters of Real Cartagena booed when Brighouse FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Baba Dickson didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Real Cartagena fans cheered their team off the field, for while Brighouse FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
