When the match had gone on for 4 minutes, Marcelo Eger put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Pedro Luís Fernandez. Pedro Luís Fernandez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcelo Eger, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Doni Seco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Prado in the 16th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Marzagão's Alberto Prado got a free kick in the 19th minute. 21 minutes into the game, Alfredo Esteves was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Marzagão's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Castanheiro SC the free kick. A collision led to Marzagão getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Alfredo Esteves hit a great ball. Castanheiro SC's Ronaldo Pinho got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 32 minutes into the game, Marcelo Eger lined in a short shot 3-0 behind a frustrated Pedro Luís Fernandez. After 42 minutes of play, Castanheiro SC's Marcelo Eger made it 5-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Pedro Luís Fernandez was left in no man's land by his defense there! Luís Eduardo Negri kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. Marzagão's Remo Borges was substituted for Válbson Fernandes. Af the end of the first half the score was 5-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Marcelo Eger stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Pedro Luís Fernandez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mauro Sarmento, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. In the 54th minute Mauro Sarmento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Luís Fernandez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Mauro Sarmento came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Castanheiro SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mauro Sarmento couldn't finish the play. In the 58th minute, Marcelo Eger ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pedro Luís Fernandez was frozen by the shot and now it was 6-0. In the 60th match minute, Castanheiro SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcelo Eger to maneuver through the defense. Gilberto Saraiva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 65 minutes into the match, Marcelo Eger notched a goal, 7-0, to the right of Marzagão's Pedro Luís Fernandez. Pedro Luís Fernandez was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Alberto Prado kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Marcelo Eger's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pedro Luís Fernandez was relentless in the 69th minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in Marzagão's zone, Júnior Alagoano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pedro Luís Fernandez came out of the goal and Júnior Alagoano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Castanheiro SC's Mauro Sarmento got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 78 minutes, Marcelo Eger put it in 8-0 from a short distance just to the right of Pedro Luís Fernandez. Pedro Luís Fernandez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcelo Eger, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. After 81 played minutes Marzagão got a freekick which was hit by Alberto Prado. A collision led to Castanheiro SC getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Mauro Sarmento hit a great ball. Pedro Luís Fernandez stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marcelo Eger's shot from short distance in the 86th minute. 88 minutes into the match, Marzagão's goal looked a bit too open when Mauro Sarmento came free, but Pedro Luís Fernandez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Marcelo Eger's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pedro Luís Fernandez was relentless in the 89th minute of the game. Mauro Sarmento might have been able to make a better finish in the 92nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Pedro Luís Fernandez. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mauro Sarmento ran back to his position shaking his head. Pedro Luís Fernandez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcelo Eger, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the referee ended the match the Castanheiro SC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
