The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Modlau booed when Strömsbro IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paul Hellström didn't get a good kick on the ball. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 11 minutes into the match, Modlau's Zlatin Ibrahimović sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Per-Olof Walroth narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Per-Olof Walroth showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zlatin Ibrahimović in the 13th minute of the match. In the 15th minute Sebastian Rosen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lukasz Traczewski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Strömsbro IF's Per-Olof Walroth played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Iwo Dziedziak in the 25th minute of play. Per-Olof Walroth took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zlatin Ibrahimović, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Strömsbro IF getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Hjalmar Ahlén hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ronaldo-Luís Nazário De Lima in the 42nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Per-Olof Walroth prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 43 minutes into the game, Fabian Smolarek was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Modlau's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Strömsbro IF the free kick. In the 44th minute, Fabian Smolarek hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Tymoteusz Gdaniec fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Modlau's protests and gave Tymoteusz Gdaniec a yellow card for diving instead. 46 minutes into the game Magne Håkansson kicked a great long shot which passed Lukasz Traczewski straight ahead into the goal, Result 1-0. One couldn't see Magne Håkansson behind all of his teammates who surrounded to congratulate him. Modlau's Kelaino Mbappè was substituted for Iwo Dziedziak. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Zlatin Ibrahimović was the one to do the kick off. When Ronaldo-Luís Nazário De Lima in the 56th play minute got the chance to kick a hard shot on goal from short distance neither the defense or Per-Olof Walroth kept up with the ball and suddenly the score was 1-1 when the ball slipped into goal inside the left pole. The audience thought a goal was coming when Zlatin Ibrahimović got free with Per-Olof Walroth in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Strömsbro IF's Per-Olof Walroth proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 73rd minute of the match, managed to save Strömsbro IF from getting a goal against them. 83 minutes into the match, Strömsbro IF's goalkeeper Per-Olof Walroth had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ronaldo-Luís Nazário De Lima. 84 minutes had been played when some careless play by Strömsbro IF's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Czeslaw Miecznikowski was slow to take the kick. During this time Modlau's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Modlau's corner Czeslaw Miecznikowski fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Per-Olof Walroth quite easily take care of the ball. Jon Ivarsson kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. A collision led to Strömsbro IF getting a freekick after 97 minutes play. Rickard Söder hit a great ball. 98 minutes into the match, Strömsbro IF's goal looked a bit too open when Ronaldo-Luís Nazário De Lima came free, but Per-Olof Walroth reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Modlau were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Strömsbro IF to leave the ground with a draw.
