With a little luck, Candelaria FC's Danilo Testa got control of the ball when Gerardo Hitz tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 10th minute, Arnaldo Marquez left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Candelaria FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Karl-Johan Ahlqvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bart Pellen in the 15th minute of play. 16 minutes into the match, Black Rose 1979's goal looked a bit too open when Arnaldo Marquez came free, but Karl-Johan Ahlqvist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 17 minutes into the match, Black Rose 1979's goal looked a bit too open when Sven-Olof Sjöberg came free, but Karl-Johan Ahlqvist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Arnaldo Marquez in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Karl-Johan Ahlqvist saved Black Rose 1979 from getting behind. 19 minutes into the match, Candelaria FC's goalkeeper Danilo Testa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Waldemar Matorin. Danilo Testa came out of the goal in the 24th minute to try and stop a shot by Black Rose 1979's Sebastian Enekoitz. But to his dismay, Sebastian Enekoitz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After a defensive mix-up in Candelaria FC's zone, Gerardo Hitz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Danilo Testa came out of the goal and Gerardo Hitz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 32nd minute Bart Pellen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karl-Johan Ahlqvist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gerardo Hitz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 36th minute, Enzo-Nicolás Pérez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Waldemar Matorin hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. Karl-Johan Ahlqvist showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bart Pellen in the 38th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Waldemar Matorin kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Danilo Testa. That made the score 2-1 in the 44 minute of play. Karl-Johan Ahlqvist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bart Pellen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Arnaldo Marquez to make the kick off. Black Rose 1979's Karl-Johan Ahlqvist proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save Black Rose 1979 from getting a goal against them. After having played for 57 minutes, Gerardo Hitz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Black Rose 1979's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gerardo Hitz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Black Rose 1979 booed when Candelaria FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jefferson de Sena didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 59th minute of the match Sebastian Enekoitz sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Danilo Testa skillfully saved the ball. Candelaria FC's Antonio Alzamendi was substituted for Bart Pellen. Candelaria FC made a substitution. Okanalp Özdil replaced Arnaldo Marquez. Candelaria FC's Christian Gómez was substituted for Sven-Olof Sjöberg. In the 76th minute of the match Sebastian Enekoitz sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Danilo Testa skillfully saved the ball. Okanalp Özdil sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Okanalp Özdil in the 91st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Karl-Johan Ahlqvist prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jefferson de Sena's late challenge caught a Black Rose 1979's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jefferson de Sena helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Candelaria FC's Jefferson de Sena got a free kick in the 93rd minute. For all the effort they put into the match, the Candelaria FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Black Rose 1979.
