The audience thought a goal was coming when Marquinhos Santos got free with Dani Hernández in the 2nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Vladimir Tepes hit a great ball. After 5 played minutes, Brazil's Saulão Chettle shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Dani Hernández came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Brazil reached it. Brazil's attentive Rodrigo Trigo managed to snatch the ball when Damian Zahonero made a throw-in in the 7th minute of the game. Marquinhos Santos took the ball and in the 10 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dani Hernández. Dani Hernández dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Brazil's Isaac Ferreira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Karim Morientes in the 13th minute of play. Isaac Ferreira stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Juan Fernando Pratto's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. In the 15thth minute of the game Juan Fernando Pratto who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Brazil's Isaac Ferreira was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 24th minute Karim Morientes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Isaac Ferreira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Venezuela's Juan Fernando Pratto in the 25th minute got a chance for a shot 25th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Brazil's goalie prevented a goal. In the 31st minute Marquinhos Santos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dani Hernández saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Saulão Chettle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Marquinhos Santos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dani Hernández read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. Brazil's Marquinhos Santos got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Marquinhos Santos's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 41stth minute, Dani Hernández skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. With his leg Dani Hernández managed to avoid a goal in the 41stth minute, when Brazil's Marquinhos Santos fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Marquinhos Santos to strike the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Marquinhos Santos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Brazil's supporters rose to their feet, but Marquinhos Santos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dani Hernández breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Brazil's Isaac Ferreira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tirso Isasaga in the 56th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marquinhos Santos in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dani Hernández prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Brazil's Rodrigo Trigo quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Damian Zahonero, made in the 65th minute of the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Marquinhos Santos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Brazil's supporters rose to their feet, but Marquinhos Santos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dani Hernández breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 74th minute, Benjamin da Fonseca got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 80th minute Luís Fabiano Cavalcante shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dani Hernández saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Peruanton Tamayos short, quick shot in the 81stth minute got Isaac Ferreira to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Brazil's defense didn't have a chance, in the 82nd minute, when Peruanton Tamayo scored to the left of an out of position Isaac Ferreira, making the score, 1-1. Eduardo Camavinga made in the 86th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Damian Zahonero however managed to control. In the 88th minute, Benjamin da Fonseca ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dani Hernández was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benjamin da Fonseca in the 91st minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Dani Hernández to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Peruanton Tamayo in the 94th minute of play forced Brazil's goalkeeper Isaac Ferreira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Brazil fans cheered their team off the field, for while Venezuela had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
