An unexpectedly hard shot by Adriano Diaz in the 10th minute of play forced U21 Ukraine's goalkeeper Petro Yakhno to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 16th minute Bater Cuca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Petro Yakhno saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 17 played minutes U21 Ukraine got a freekick which was hit by Ostap Fedoriv. Petro Yakhno showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Durval Tinoco in the 18th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Durval Tinoco in the 18th minute of play forced U21 Ukraine's goalkeeper Petro Yakhno to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Deilmison Yashin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Myroslav Matviychuk in the 21st minute. In the 25th minute of the match, Myroslav Matviychuk got a very nice opportunity to score, but Deilmison Yashin was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Petro Yakhno stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bater Cuca's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. Petro Yakhno made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adriano Diaz in the 28th minute of play. Deilmison Yashin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mykyta Komar in the 32nd minute of play. U21 Ukraine's Petro Yakhno played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Otávio Meirelles in the 36th minute of play. 38 minutes into the match, ꑿ.Ꮳ. ꋪꋬℑꋬꇓ's goal looked a bit too open when Myroslav Matviychuk came free, but Deilmison Yashin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Adriano Diaz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 45th minute, Bater Cuca got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 47th minute, Adriano Diaz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

With 54 minutes on the clock, Durvalino de Queirós commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After a defensive mix-up in ꑿ.Ꮳ. ꋪꋬℑꋬꇓ's zone, Myroslav Matviychuk stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Deilmison Yashin came out of the goal and Myroslav Matviychuk tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. U21 Ukraine made a substitution. Grygoriy Lozynskyi replaced Mykyta Komar. Bater Cuca took the ball and in the 63 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Petro Yakhno. Petro Yakhno dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Yuriy Yarovyi's late challenge caught a ꑿ.Ꮳ. ꋪꋬℑꋬꇓ's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Yuriy Yarovyi helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of ꑿ.Ꮳ. ꋪꋬℑꋬꇓ booed when U21 Ukraine was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Yuriy Yarovyi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bater Cuca struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Petro Yakhno didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for ꑿ.Ꮳ. ꋪꋬℑꋬꇓ. Petro Yakhno made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adriano Diaz in the 72nd minute of play. The audience was convinced that Adriano Diaz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Petro Yakhno was relentless in the 74th minute of the game. In the 75th minute of the match ꑿ.Ꮳ. ꋪꋬℑꋬꇓ got a corner. U21 Ukraine's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Rubens Tasso ran over to the corner to take the kick. Rubens Tasso made a great header on ꑿ.Ꮳ. ꋪꋬℑꋬꇓ's corner, it was just that U21 Ukraine's Petro Yakhno managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 81st minute Adriano Diaz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Petro Yakhno saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. ꑿ.Ꮳ. ꋪꋬℑꋬꇓ's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Rubens Tasso in the 82nd minute. When the match had gone on for 90 minutes, Adriano Diaz took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Petro Yakhno to make any attempt to save it. Chants of ꑿ.Ꮳ. ꋪꋬℑꋬꇓ echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as U21 Ukraine had held the ball for most of the match.
