Severo Misael received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Ronaldão dos Santos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rafael Martino stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Betão Marinho's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Augusto Galvão in the 15th minute of play forced Club Sportivo Italiano's goalkeeper Rafael Martino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aírton Queirós kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. 25 minutes into the game, Club Sportivo Italiano's Octavio Senio nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ronaldão dos Santos made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Rafael Martino was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Elvio Machado fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Club Sportivo Italiano's protests and gave Elvio Machado a yellow card for diving instead. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The supporters of Quebra Ossos FC booed when Club Sportivo Italiano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ceferino Blasco didn't get a good kick on the ball. 54 minutes into the match, Club Sportivo Italiano's goal looked a bit too open when Betão Marinho came free, but Rafael Martino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Octavio Senio in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ronaldão dos Santos saved Quebra Ossos FC from getting behind. The Club Sportivo Italiano fans' excitement grew in the 60th match minute when Club Sportivo Italiano's Octavio Senio looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. When Octavio Senio came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Club Sportivo Italiano fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Octavio Senio couldn't finish the play. When the match clock showed 71 minutes, the score became 5-3 when Octavio Senio sped through Quebra Ossos FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ronaldão dos Santos. The audience was convinced that Octavio Senio's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ronaldão dos Santos was relentless in the 75th minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Carlos Augusto Galvão got free with Rafael Martino in the 77th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Club Sportivo Italiano's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fermin Torres was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ronaldão dos Santos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Octavio Senio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Quebra Ossos FC's Luís Gustavo de Lima got a free kick in the 92nd minute. Quebra Ossos FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
