With an all-out effort, FC Koper's Richard Breckenfeld threw himself towards the right post 16 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Luka Saje, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 22 minutes into the match, FC Koper's goal looked a bit too open when Sílvio Corrêa came free, but Bine Šercelj reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Robert Jurčić fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Koper's protests and gave Robert Jurčić a yellow card for diving instead. In the 23rd match minute, FC Koper was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Robert Jurčić to maneuver through the defense. In the 24th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Koper's goalkeeper Bine Šercelj, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 26th minute, FC Koper's Claudio Brkić dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. In the 31st minute Sílvio Corrêa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bine Šercelj saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 33 minutes into the match, FC Koper's goal looked a bit too open when Paulo de Barros came free, but Bine Šercelj reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luka Saje recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 40 minutes into the game, Quebra Ossos FC's Ronaldo Galvão nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bine Šercelj made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Ronaldo Galvão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Bine Šercelj tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Claudio Brkić to make the kick off. In the 50th minute, Luisinho Cardoso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A nice corner shot did that Marino Gregorič got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Richard Breckenfeld quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 60 minutes into the match, Quebra Ossos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Luka Saje came free, but Richard Breckenfeld reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sílvio Corrêa in the 61st minute of play forced FC Koper's goalkeeper Bine Šercelj to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 64th minute, Betão Marinho made a precise shot to the right of Bine Šercelj. FC Koper's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. Richard Breckenfeld took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luka Saje, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Robert Jurčić managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Koper's supporters rose to their feet, but Robert Jurčić was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Richard Breckenfeld breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Aírton Queirós hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. Telmo Salles kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. Richard Breckenfeld made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Claudio Brkić in the 80th minute of play. Bine Šercelj was a little too slow when Sílvio Corrêa got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 81st minute. The score was now 1-4. In the 91st minute Sílvio Corrêa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bine Šercelj saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 95 minutes into the game, Claudio Brkić cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-4. Richard Breckenfeld was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
