Spectators: 36 (Terracing: 28, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Luiz Fábio Ferreira kicked off to start the match. Remo da Costa came out of the goal in the 17th minute to try and stop a shot by Montesclarense E.C.'s Caco Rossi. But to his dismay, Caco Rossi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. If Caio Luz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Chiquinho de Lima managed to get in a good position for a shot. Montesclarense E.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Chiquinho de Lima was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Remo da Costa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 39 minutes into the game, Caco Rossi cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Remo da Costa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Remo da Costa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Caco Rossi, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. After the first half Montesclarense E.C. were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Caco Rossi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 56 minutes into the match, César Terra notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Montesclarense E.C.'s Luiz Monteiro. Luiz Monteiro was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The audience thought a goal was coming when Chiquinho de Lima got free with Remo da Costa in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Caco Rossi came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Montesclarense E.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Caco Rossi couldn't finish the play. After 61 minutes, Rômulo Macedo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the S S Palestra Italia and the Montesclarense E.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. Remo da Costa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Chiquinho de Lima went, in the 63rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. If Chiquinho de Lima had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Remo da Costa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Caco Rossi in the 72nd minute. In the 75th match minute, S S Palestra Italia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luiz Fábio Ferreira to maneuver through the defense. Chiquinho de Lima fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Remo da Costa having to interfere. Chiquinho de Lima charged in rather forcefully in the 79th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Chiquinho de Lima the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 79th minute, Chiquinho de Lima hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luiz Monteiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from César Terra, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. Chiquinho de Lima sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luiz Monteiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Caio Luz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Montesclarense E.C. getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Caco Rossi hit a great ball. Chants of Montesclarense E.C. echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as S S Palestra Italia had held the ball for most of the match.
