Sidney Schmidt took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 18th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Orlando Guimarães. EoDu Uai Sôccer's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Orlando Guimarães took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luiz Cavalcante, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 26th minute, Patrick Valle ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Luiz Monteiro was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. After a defensive mix-up in Montesclarense E.C.'s zone, Vítor Simão stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luiz Monteiro came out of the goal and Vítor Simão tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Chiquinho de Lima sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 34th match minute, EoDu Uai Sôccer was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cássio Gomes to maneuver through the defense. EoDu Uai Sôccer's Orlando Guimarães proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to save EoDu Uai Sôccer from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Montesclarense E.C. booed when EoDu Uai Sôccer was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cássio Gomes didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match had gone on for 41 minutes, Luiz Cavalcante took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Orlando Guimarães to make any attempt to save it. After a rather tough play, Montesclarense E.C.'s Dráuzio Tepedino got a free kick in the 45th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Vítor Simão to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luiz Cavalcante in the 52nd minute of play forced EoDu Uai Sôccer's goalkeeper Orlando Guimarães to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Patrick Valle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luiz Monteiro having to interfere. Luiz Monteiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Angelo Mangueira in the 64th minute of play. In the 65th minute, Dadá Pinheiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match clock showed 69 minutes, the score became 1-4 when Vítor Simão sped through Montesclarense E.C.'s defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Luiz Monteiro. EoDu Uai Sôccer's Angelo Mangueira got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Luiz Monteiro was out of position in the 78 minute of play, and Vítor Simão capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Vítor Simão really showed his touch with that goal: 1-5. In the 82nd minute, Chiquinho de Lima hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. EoDu Uai Sôccer's Orlando Guimarães played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luiz Cavalcante in the 84th minute of play. Luiz Monteiro was out of position in the 90 minute of play, and Vítor Simão capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Vítor Simão really showed his touch with that goal: 1-6. The EoDu Uai Sôccer supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing EoDu Uai Sôccer would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
