When the match had gone on for 4 minutes, Rodriguinho Cabral put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Winford Taylor. After a rather tough play, Galo na Veia FC™'s Rodriguinho Cabral got a free kick in the 7th minute. The long shot by Mario Hayes in the 8th minute really tested Elói Medeiros's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. New England Minas's Winford Taylor played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Ramalho in the 13th minute of play. Alberto Negri charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alberto Negri the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Galo na Veia FC™ getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Alberto Negri hit a great ball. Winford Taylor took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Renato Pimenta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 22 played minutes Galo na Veia FC™ got a freekick which was hit by Rodriguinho Cabral. Elói Medeiros made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Dwayne Clement sent off a good shot on target. Bradly Gray kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. In the 32nd minute Rodriguinho Cabral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Winford Taylor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Galo na Veia FC™ booed when New England Minas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dwayne Clement didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 37th minute, Joel Ramalho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Winford Taylor stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kiko Martins's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Yuri Queiroz in the 41st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Winford Taylor saved New England Minas from getting behind. Kiko Martins recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kiko Martins in the 44th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Winford Taylor saved New England Minas from getting behind. When the match had gone on for 44 minutes, Kiko Martins put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Winford Taylor. After a rather tough play, Galo na Veia FC™'s Pedrinho Velloso got a free kick in the 47th minute. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Javier Cahill stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rodriguinho Cabral got free with Winford Taylor in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Galo na Veia FC™'s attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Alberto Negri in the 53rd minute. A nice corner shot did that Alberto Negri got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Winford Taylor quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. A collision led to New England Minas getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. DeAngelo Petty hit a great ball. 57 minutes into the match, Galo na Veia FC™'s Yuri Queiroz sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Winford Taylor narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Winford Taylor made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when Kiko Martins sent off a good shot on target. Rodriguinho Cabral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Winford Taylor having to interfere. Elói Medeiros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dwayne Clement in the 62nd minute of play. 67 minutes into the game, one of New England Minas:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Winford Taylor had in the 68thth minute some difficulties stopping Alberto Negri's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. In the 69th minute, Dwayne Clement hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in New England Minas's zone, Rodriguinho Cabral stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Winford Taylor came out of the goal and Rodriguinho Cabral tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. New England Minas's Winford Taylor played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Ramalho in the 73rd minute of play. The audience was convinced that Kiko Martins's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Winford Taylor was relentless in the 74th minute of the game. Yuri Queiroz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 82 minutes into the game, Kiko Martins cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Winford Taylor was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 86 played minutes New England Minas got a freekick which was hit by Brice Wang. Kiko Martins's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 90thth minute, Winford Taylor skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Winford Taylor stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Yuri Queiroz's shot from short distance in the 94th minute. In the 96th match minute, Galo na Veia FC™ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rodriguinho Cabral to maneuver through the defense. When the match was over Galo na Veia FC™ could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than New England Minas throughout the match.
