The supporters of S S Palestra Italia booed when Reko-Recko 03™ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Walmyr Proença didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Hortêncio Rosa fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Reko-Recko 03™'s protests and gave Hortêncio Rosa a yellow card for diving instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Reko-Recko 03™ fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 24th minute. Penalty! Walmyr Proença struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Remo da Costa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Reko-Recko 03™. 34 minutes into the match, Caio Luz notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Reko-Recko 03™'s Haroldo de Sena. Haroldo de Sena was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a rather tough play, Reko-Recko 03™'s Eliézer Cerezo got a free kick in the 38th minute. Walmyr Proença's late challenge caught a S S Palestra Italia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Walmyr Proença helped the player get up and apologised. In the 40th match minute, Reko-Recko 03™ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Walmyr Proença to maneuver through the defense. In the 41st minute César Terra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Haroldo de Sena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in S S Palestra Italia's zone, Tostão Arruda stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Remo da Costa came out of the goal and Tostão Arruda tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rômulo Macedo kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Walmyr Proença to make the kick off. A collision led to Reko-Recko 03™ getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Walmyr Proença hit a great ball. S S Palestra Italia's Remo da Costa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Walmyr Proença in the 64th minute of play. Walmyr Proença struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Remo da Costa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Reko-Recko 03™. Tostão Arruda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Remo da Costa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 76th match minute, Reko-Recko 03™ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hortêncio Rosa to maneuver through the defense. If Tostão Arruda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Remo da Costa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Walmyr Proença, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. After having played for 82 minutes, Walmyr Proença managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Reko-Recko 03™'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Walmyr Proença was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. César Terra came free with the goalkeeper in the 89th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Haroldo de Sena could save by the left post. Haroldo de Sena showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luiz Fábio Ferreira in the 91st minute of the match. Tostão Arruda's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Remo da Costa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 95th minute of play. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
