Remo da Costa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tod Mosley's shot from short distance in the 5th minute. In the 6th match minute, S S Palestra Italia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Miguel Donatello to maneuver through the defense. In the 7th minute Tod Mosley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Remo da Costa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rômulo Macedo kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. 11 minutes into the match, S S Palestra Italia's goal looked a bit too open when Tod Mosley came free, but Remo da Costa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 12 minutes in the game, Tod Mosley dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Toma Nkut was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 17 minutes into the match. In the 17th minute, Toma Nkut hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 18 minutes into the match, S S Palestra Italia's Miguel Donatello broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. 20 minutes into the game, Luís Paulo da Mata was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. S S Palestra Italia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave New England Minas the free kick. The supporters of New England Minas booed when S S Palestra Italia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luís Paulo da Mata didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Kaba Sø managed to get in a good position for a shot. New England Minas's supporters rose to their feet, but Kaba Sø was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Remo da Costa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Kaba Sø fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Remo da Costa having to interfere. New England Minas's Tobias Herrington got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Remo da Costa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tobias Herrington's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. In the 36thth minute of the game Tobias Herrington who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but S S Palestra Italia's Remo da Costa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 38th minute Kaba Sø shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Remo da Costa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kaba Sø fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Remo da Costa having to interfere. After 40 minutes of play, New England Minas's Tobias Herrington made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Remo da Costa was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 46 played minutes S S Palestra Italia got a freekick which was hit by Rômulo Macedo. The S S Palestra Italia players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. New England Minas were winning 0-1.
In the 54th minute, Kaba Sø left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The New England Minas fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Tobias Herrington fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Remo da Costa having to interfere. 58 minutes into the match, Tobias Herrington had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Remo da Costa. S S Palestra Italia's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tobias Herrington was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luís Paulo da Mata in the 62nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Winford Taylor saved New England Minas from getting behind. Kaba Sø struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Remo da Costa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for New England Minas. Kaba Sø in the 75thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Remo da Costa, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 76th match minute, S S Palestra Italia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Paulo da Mata to maneuver through the defense. Kaba Sø's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Remo da Costa firmly grabbed it by the left post. The long shot by Mario Hayes in the 84th minute really tested Remo da Costa's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Kaba Sø fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Remo da Costa having to interfere. Waylon McQueen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Remo da Costa made a huge save. Kaba Sø took the ball and in the 92 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Remo da Costa. Remo da Costa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. The New England Minas supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing New England Minas would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
