William Zombori showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edmondo Del Monte in the 5th minute of the match. Ingvar Nykvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcial Silviano in the 6th minute of play. ₡ösᴛᴀ ᴆᴇ ₿ᴀʀᴙɪĿ's William Zombori proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save ₡ösᴛᴀ ᴆᴇ ₿ᴀʀᴙɪĿ from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lautaro Acosta in the 10th minute of play forced ΠΑΟΚ FC's goalkeeper Ingvar Nykvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Santiago Silva had several of the ₡ösᴛᴀ ᴆᴇ ₿ᴀʀᴙɪĿ's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 13 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed William Zombori as he didn't even see the shot coming. ΠΑΟΚ FC's Ingvar Nykvist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcial Silviano in the 17th minute of play. Ingvar Nykvist showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcial Silviano in the 21st minute of the match. The supporters of ₡ösᴛᴀ ᴆᴇ ₿ᴀʀᴙɪĿ booed when ΠΑΟΚ FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristo Rolado didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match clock showed 30 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Santiago Silva sped through ₡ösᴛᴀ ᴆᴇ ₿ᴀʀᴙɪĿ's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of William Zombori. William Zombori made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Santiago Silva in the 33rd minute of play. In the 36th minute Marcial Silviano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ingvar Nykvist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 46th minute, Santiago Silva made a precise shot to the right of William Zombori. ₡ösᴛᴀ ᴆᴇ ₿ᴀʀᴙɪĿ's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Marcial Silviano was the one to do the kick off. If Edmondo Del Monte had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ingvar Nykvist made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marcial Silviano in the 72nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Santiago Silva in the 73rd minute of play forced ₡ösᴛᴀ ᴆᴇ ₿ᴀʀᴙɪĿ's goalkeeper William Zombori to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jorge Joachim took the ball and in the 85 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ingvar Nykvist. Ingvar Nykvist dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Santiago Silva in the 88th minute of play forced ₡ösᴛᴀ ᴆᴇ ₿ᴀʀᴙɪĿ's goalkeeper William Zombori to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ovidio Marin got free with Ingvar Nykvist in the 89th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ingvar Nykvist made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ovidio Marin in the 91st minute. When the match had gone on for 92 minutes, Jorge Joachim took a quick shot and it went in 3-3 without a chance for Ingvar Nykvist to make any attempt to save it. Neither team could find the winning goal during normal time. The second half finished 3-3. Extra-time would have to be played.

The players didn't get much rest, but they still tried to pep each other up as they lined up for the first half in overtime. ΠΑΟΚ FC's Santiago Silva started the play with his kick off. When it was time for second half in the overtime, the players were a bit slow, but they soon became more alert when it was time for Jorge Joachim to make the kick off. ₡ösᴛᴀ ᴆᴇ ₿ᴀʀᴙɪĿ's Javier Mazuste quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Ernesto Tauro, made in the 117th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baldovino Argos in the 121st minute of play forced ₡ösᴛᴀ ᴆᴇ ₿ᴀʀᴙɪĿ's goalkeeper William Zombori to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 126 minutes into the game, Savas Karameris was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. ΠΑΟΚ FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ₡ösᴛᴀ ᴆᴇ ₿ᴀʀᴙɪĿ the free kick. In the 126th minute, one of ΠΑΟΚ FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for ΠΑΟΚ FC. 127 minutes into the game, Jorge Joachim cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-4. Ingvar Nykvist was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
