In the 12th match minute, Capibaribe Stars was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Albino Gaskon to maneuver through the defense. 16 minutes into the match, Capibaribe Stars's goal looked a bit too open when Benedykt Lanczak came free, but Thomás Toscano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wilton Fontes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alberigo Prosperi in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Onur-Recep Kıvrak saved Kᴇᴛᴇɴçᴀʏɪʀ from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benedykt Lanczak in the 31st minute of play forced Capibaribe Stars's goalkeeper Thomás Toscano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thomás Toscano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benedykt Lanczak, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Thanks to some nice moves Hicham Al Azka could shoot a difficult shot in the 34th minute, which Onur-Recep Kıvrak however easily saved by the left post. 36 minutes into the match, Robinho Urbano notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Kᴇᴛᴇɴçᴀʏɪʀ's Onur-Recep Kıvrak. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Capibaribe Stars reached it. After 45 played minutes Capibaribe Stars got a freekick which was hit by Alberigo Prosperi. Kᴇᴛᴇɴçᴀʏɪʀ's Onur-Recep Kıvrak proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save Kᴇᴛᴇɴçᴀʏɪʀ from getting a goal against them.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alberigo Prosperi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 51 played minutes Capibaribe Stars got a freekick which was hit by Nike 武磊. An unexpectedly hard shot by Deng Jie Wei in the 94th minute of play forced Capibaribe Stars's goalkeeper Thomás Toscano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

With new strength the players walked out on the field for the first half of overtime. Deng Jie Wei in Kᴇᴛᴇɴçᴀʏɪʀ was the one to initiate the kick off. A collision led to Capibaribe Stars getting a freekick after 100 minutes play. Mihnea Zamfir hit a great ball. Onur-Recep Kıvrak showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Henry Costa, who was totally free with the ball in the 106th minute. Mohamed Basso took the ball and in the 107 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Onur-Recep Kıvrak. Onur-Recep Kıvrak dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-3. For all the effort they put into the match, the Kᴇᴛᴇɴçᴀʏɪʀ players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Capibaribe Stars.
