Rodriguinho Sousa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Epifanio Leceta, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. Santiago Fuentes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Feng Ting Chong, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 18th minute, Stanislao Cabrera hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 19 minutes into the match, ℄ΣᏩモ₦ፚ ℱ.Ȼ's goal looked a bit too open when Deilmison van Basten came free, but Santiago Fuentes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Berdaitz Othaz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Feng Ting Chong took the ball and in the 26 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Santiago Fuentes. Santiago Fuentes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. A sloppy throw-in by Unax Mudarra in the 29th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by ℄ΣᏩモ₦ፚ ℱ.Ȼ's Matxin Curro. 30 minutes into the match, ATHLETICO PRaiano's goalkeeper Rodriguinho Sousa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Matxin Curro. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Deilmison van Basten in the 36th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Santiago Fuentes saved ℄ΣᏩモ₦ፚ ℱ.Ȼ from getting behind. Berdaitz Othaz fired away a difficult shot at goal in the 44th minute. He almost succeeded, but the ball went over. It was a very nice shot. If Deilmison van Basten had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half ATHLETICO PRaiano were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After some careless play in the ATHLETICO PRaiano defense, Epifanio Leceta kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rodriguinho Sousa. The ATHLETICO PRaiano fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rodriguinho Sousa should have stopped the shot. Through an outstanding action, after 62 minutes, Santiago Fuentes successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Berdaitz Othaz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Simão do Vale kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. ℄ΣᏩモ₦ፚ ℱ.Ȼ made a substitution. Waldemar Korytkowski replaced Matxin Curro. ATHLETICO PRaiano's Erubiel Valery was substituted for Betão Marquez. ATHLETICO PRaiano made a substitution. Denílson Magalhães replaced Robin van Persie. ATHLETICO PRaiano made a substitution. The tie meant more entertainment for the crowd as the match moved into extra-time.

The players didn't get much rest, but they still tried to pep each other up as they lined up for the first half in overtime. ℄ΣᏩモ₦ፚ ℱ.Ȼ's Dionisio Quinito started the play with his kick off. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched ATHLETICO PRaiano eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
