In the 3rd minute, Dewa Gol ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Kuido Ööpik was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. If Mark Arvidsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Dewa Gol's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kuido Ööpik read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 9th minute of play. 12 minutes into the match, Bograngen's goal looked a bit too open when Codruț Dragușin came free, but Cláudio-André Taffarel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 14th minute, Dewa Gol left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Bograngen fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Kuido Ööpik made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dewa Gol in the 25th minute of play. Dewa Gol received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Kuido Ööpik tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 28th minute Dewa Gol shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kuido Ööpik saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 30 minutes into the match, Bograngen's Dewa Gol sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Kuido Ööpik narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Codruț Dragușin got free with Cláudio-André Taffarel in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Codruț Dragușin in the 36th minute of play forced Bograngen's goalkeeper Cláudio-André Taffarel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dewa Gol in the 40th minute of play forced Axbergs IF's goalkeeper Kuido Ööpik to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 43 played minutes Bograngen got a freekick which was hit by Min Hero. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Bograngen made a substitution. Sven-Olof Eklund replaced Erland Stenqvist. The wind increased when Codruț Dragușin made the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Olov Lindström during the 53rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Axbergs IF's Olov Lindström got a free kick in the 53rd minute. In the 56th match minute, Axbergs IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Olov Lindström to maneuver through the defense. Bograngen's Sergiu Cheptene was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Kuido Ööpik in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Claes Kilstedt might have been able to make a better finish in the 61st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cláudio-André Taffarel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Claes Kilstedt ran back to his position shaking his head. A throw-in in the 68th minute of the game was made by Mark Arvidsson with Codruț Dragușin as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. After 71 played minutes Bograngen got a freekick which was hit by Aleko Vangelov. 75 minutes into the match, Bograngen's goal looked a bit too open when Claes Kilstedt came free, but Cláudio-André Taffarel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 77th minute Dewa Gol shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kuido Ööpik saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Axbergs IF's Jakob Kjellbom was substituted for Gösta Åkesson. Bograngen were awarded a corner in the 79th minute after Axbergs IF's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Sven-Olof Eklund took the corner. Bograngen's Sven-Olof Eklund was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Kuido Ööpik in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Sergiu Cheptene's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Kuido Ööpik firmly grabbed it by the left post. After 87 played minutes Axbergs IF got a freekick which was hit by Mark Arvidsson. The supporters of Axbergs IF booed when Bograngen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Birger Skålberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Bograngen's Birger Skålberg got a free kick in the 95th minute. When Codruț Dragușin came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Axbergs IF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Codruț Dragușin couldn't finish the play.
