To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Allan Varela made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fellipe Lago in the 10th minute of play. Gilmar da Rocha got a throw-in 35 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Urban Stenman. Allan Varela took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Agustín Tastzian, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 36th minute Agustín Tastzian shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Allan Varela saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hudson Sergipano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Patric Isaksson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hudson Sergipano couldn't finish the play. Luiz Paulo do Valle charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Luiz Paulo do Valle the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The Palestra do Interior players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Barrenta SC were winning 0-1.
