With an all-out effort, MKS Pogoń Szczecin's Marcelo Galvão threw himself towards the right post 2 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Clodoveo Ponce, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The MKS Pogoń Szczecin fans' excitement grew in the 3rd match minute when MKS Pogoń Szczecin's Clodoveo Ponce looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. With his leg Marcelo Galvão managed to avoid a goal in the 8thth minute, when MKS Pogoń Szczecin's Clodoveo Ponce fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Clodoveo Ponces short, quick shot in the 8thth minute got Marcelo Galvão to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 13th match minute, MKS Pogoń Szczecin was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Radomir Bazan to maneuver through the defense. Marcelo Galvão made an important save on a dangerous shot by Clodoveo Ponce in the 15th minute. When MKS Pogoń Szczecin's Ovando Vera in the 16th minute got a chance for a shot 16th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Marcelo Galvão was left in no man's land by his defense there! 27 minutes into the match, Itajaí Football Club's goalkeeper Marcelo Galvão had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Radomir Bazan. Marcelo Galvão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Clodoveo Ponce in the 28th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Clodoveo Ponce in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marcelo Galvão prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of Itajaí Football Club booed when MKS Pogoń Szczecin was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Clodoveo Ponce didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marcelo Galvão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ovando Vera, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. In the 34th minute Clodoveo Ponce shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcelo Galvão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 42nd minute, Li Xu Cheng left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The MKS Pogoń Szczecin fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Clodoveo Ponce took the ball and in the 90 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marcelo Galvão. Marcelo Galvão dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 8-0. 98 minutes into the match, MKS Pogoń Szczecin's goalkeeper Wiktor Dudkowski had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Conrado Miranda. When the referee ended the match the MKS Pogoń Szczecin players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
