Nichifor Nicolae took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ludwig Smedfeldt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Victor Piţurcă's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Einar Jernberg was relentless in the 13th minute of the game. 14 minutes into the match, Emerald's goalkeeper Nichifor Nicolae had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bernt Vennerkvist. The throw-in from Julio Iglesias in the 17th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Hisingen IK's Tage Sander. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gabriel Vermeşan in the 20th minute of play forced Hisingen IK's goalkeeper Einar Jernberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Victor Piţurcă took the ball and in the 23 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Einar Jernberg. Einar Jernberg dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Hisingen IK made a substitution. Stig Säf replaced Ludwig Smedfeldt. Einar Jernberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Victor Piţurcă, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Emerald's Nichifor Nicolae played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bernt Vennerkvist in the 34th minute of play. Emerald's Victor Piţurcă got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Einar Jernberg came out of the goal in the 42nd minute to try and stop a shot by Emerald's Victor Piţurcă. But to his dismay, Victor Piţurcă quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Nichifor Nicolae took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bernt Vennerkvist, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 46th minute, Victor Piţurcă ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Einar Jernberg was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. Emerald's Ioan Logofătu was substituted for Julio Iglesias. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Victor Piţurcă to make the kick off. If Vilhelm Bokelund had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Emerald were awarded a corner in the 66th minute after Hisingen IK's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Jaime Carioca took the corner. Jaime Carioca made a great header on Emerald's corner, it was just that Hisingen IK's Einar Jernberg managed to reach the ball for a save. A collision led to Hisingen IK getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Tage Sander hit a great ball. Einar Jernberg stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Victor Piţurcă's shot from short distance in the 71st minute. Einar Jernberg made an important save on a dangerous shot by Victor Piţurcă in the 73rd minute. After 73 played minutes Hisingen IK got a freekick which was hit by Jarl Stålman. Victor Piţurcă might have been able to make a better finish in the 75th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Einar Jernberg. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Victor Piţurcă ran back to his position shaking his head. Hisingen IK's Einar Jernberg proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Hisingen IK from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Hisingen IK's Bengt-Arne Wester got a free kick in the 75th minute. With a little luck, Hisingen IK's Einar Jernberg got control of the ball when Victor Piţurcă tried to sneak it across the goal line. 78 minutes in the game Bertil Söderqwist did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Vilhelm Bokelund. The audience thought a goal was coming when Victor Piţurcă got free with Einar Jernberg in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gabriel Mălaimare's late challenge caught a Hisingen IK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gabriel Mălaimare helped the player get up and apologised. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jaime Carioca during the 87th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Emerald's Jaime Carioca got a free kick in the 88th minute. Victor Piţurcă sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 91 minutes into the match, Hisingen IK's goal looked a bit too open when Victor Piţurcă came free, but Einar Jernberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Einar Jernberg came out of the goal in the 92nd minute to try and stop a shot by Emerald's Victor Piţurcă. But to his dismay, Victor Piţurcă quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Emerald walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
