The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Gregorio Fagildo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hans-Martin Istad, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 8thth minute of the game Conrado Maiorga who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Masters United F.C.'s Enrique Bologna was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Gregorio Fagildo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Florencio Rafe in the 9th minute of play. In the 13th minute, Amador Rafel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gregorio Fagildo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Florencio Rafe in the 14th minute. If Conrado Maiorga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gregorio Fagildo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Celso Hotz, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. With an all-out effort, Masters United F.C.'s Gregorio Fagildo threw himself towards the right post 29 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Celso Hotz, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Saverio Teofilio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Gregorio Fagildo made a huge save. After 42 minutes, Diego Milito mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Deportivo Diamante U18 and the Masters United F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 42 played minutes Deportivo Diamante U18 got a freekick which was hit by Diego Milito. With 46 minutes on the clock, Lucio Diegotxe commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After the first half Deportivo Diamante U18 were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Hans-Martin Istad made a kick off. Deportivo Diamante U18's Gregorio Fagildo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Celso Hotz in the 52nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Saverio Teofilio in the 53rd minute of play forced Deportivo Diamante U18's goalkeeper Gregorio Fagildo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
