An unexpectedly hard shot by Ivón Echavarri in the 14th minute of play forced Esmeralda AFC's goalkeeper Jorge Armani to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Timoteo Lucero was a little too slow when Eloy Calvino got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 18th minute. The score was now 2-0. 22 minutes into the match, Akademia Maliqi's goal looked a bit too open when David Banegas came free, but Timoteo Lucero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Akademia Maliqi's defense didn't have a chance, in the 25th minute, when Devidatta Vendetta scored to the left of an out of position Timoteo Lucero, making the score, 3-0. After 28 played minutes Akademia Maliqi got a freekick which was hit by Olsi Berberi. 30 minutes into the match, Akademia Maliqi's goalkeeper Timoteo Lucero had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Devidatta Vendetta. Timoteo Lucero was a little too slow when Andrew Dalli got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 31st minute. The score was now 4-0. Timoteo Lucero made an important save on a dangerous shot by David Banegas in the 33rd minute. In the 34th minute, Olsi Berberi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 35 played minutes, Esmeralda AFC's Devidatta Vendetta shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Timoteo Lucero came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Esmeralda AFC reached it. Timoteo Lucero made an important save on a dangerous shot by David Banegas in the 38th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emmanuel Urruti in the 41st minute of play forced Esmeralda AFC's goalkeeper Jorge Armani to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Akademia Maliqi's Timoteo Lucero proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 42nd minute of the match, managed to save Akademia Maliqi from getting a goal against them. In the 43rd minute of the match Esmeralda AFC got a corner. Akademia Maliqi's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Devidatta Vendetta ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 45th minute, David Banegas left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Esmeralda AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 5-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Andrew Dalli to make the kick off. Akademia Maliqi's Emmanuel Urruti quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Lê Yang, made in the 53rd minute of the game. Olsi Berberi hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by David Banegas in the 55th minute of play forced Akademia Maliqi's goalkeeper Timoteo Lucero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. David Banegas scored 6-0 in the 57th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Timoteo Lucero, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Esmeralda AFC's Jorge Armani played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alexandru Nastac in the 60th minute of play. Jorge Armani made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alexandru Nastac in the 64th minute of play. David Banegas took the ball and in the 65 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Timoteo Lucero. Timoteo Lucero dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 7-0. Timoteo Lucero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eloy Calvino in the 76th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alexandru Nastac in the 81st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jorge Armani saved Esmeralda AFC from getting behind.
