Cumali Neşat's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eric Gary read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. When Rudolf Garreau fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Jagiellonia Denver's protests and gave Rudolf Garreau a yellow card for diving instead. In the 25th match minute, Jagiellonia Denver was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rudolf Garreau to maneuver through the defense. 26 minutes into the match, A K Ç A Y ✔ 37 SK's Cumali Neşat sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Eric Gary narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cacá Čačak to make the kick off. In the 61st minute Michal Majdoch shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bora Hazer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Baran Alp Barın came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the A K Ç A Y ✔ 37 SK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Baran Alp Barın couldn't finish the play.
