King Eken could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Cristo Cordara made a huge save. Stein Spoelberch showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hudson Pires in the 17th minute of the match. Club Brugge's Pieter Van Landewijck suffered a sore thigh after 21 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Club Brugge's Diederik Temmerman was substituted for Pieter Van Landewijck. The supporters of Club Brugge booed when Royal Knights FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. 蔡辉海 didn't get a good kick on the ball. Despite this Cristo Cordara quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Club Brugge were awarded a corner in the 41th minute after Royal Knights FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Henning Ekström took the corner. Hector Bellerin made a great header on Club Brugge's corner, it was just that Royal Knights FC's Cristo Cordara managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 42nd match minute, Royal Knights FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arne Röspel to maneuver through the defense. If Carlos Lima had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

With an extended leg and a bit of luck Stein Spoelberch prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Stein Spoelberch showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Lima, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. In the 77th minute Manu Smets shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stein Spoelberch saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Lima in the 81st minute of play forced Club Brugge's goalkeeper Stein Spoelberch to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Brent Nelleboedske blasted a shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cristo Cordara having to make a save. In the 85th minute, Manu Smets hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 92 played minutes Club Brugge got a freekick which was hit by Diederik Temmerman. Cristo Cordara showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jan-Simon Elsen in the 94th minute of the match. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Club Brugge lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
