The crowd rose to their feet as Astillero del Guayas's Mattias Svan slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Lu Hong Qiang. That made the score 1-0 after 6 minutes of play. In the 9thth minute of the game Mattias Svan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mauro's Lu Hong Qiang was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Astillero del Guayas were furious when Jiang Hui Guang was red carded, 11 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 13th minute there was a penalty for Mauro. Barnaba Falke stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Nacho González. 1-1. Ulizes Sola recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 18th match minute, Mauro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Islam Slimani to maneuver through the defense. In the 24th minute, Astillero del Guayas's Mattias Svan dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-1. Lu Hong Qiang took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ulizes Sola, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lu Hong Qiang made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ulizes Sola in the 27th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mattias Svan got free with Lu Hong Qiang in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 30th match minute, Mauro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Teofil Bara to maneuver through the defense. Mauro's Lu Hong Qiang played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mattias Svan in the 31st minute of play. After having played for 33 minutes, Ulizes Sola managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Astillero del Guayas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ulizes Sola was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 39 minutes into the match, Mauro's goal looked a bit too open when Ulizes Sola came free, but Lu Hong Qiang reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nacho González showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nicola Zalewski, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. 44 minutes had been played when some careless play by Astillero del Guayas's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Barnaba Falke was slow to take the kick. During this time Mauro's players had a chance to rest. Lu Hong Qiang didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mattias Svan went, in the 45th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

If Ulizes Sola had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Lu Hong Qiang took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ulizes Sola, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mattias Svan in the 63rd minute of play forced Mauro's goalkeeper Lu Hong Qiang to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 66 minutes into the match, Mauro's goal looked a bit too open when Ulizes Sola came free, but Lu Hong Qiang reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Teofil Bara could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 70th minute of the match, but Nacho González made a huge save. If Gustav Vinström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Mauro's Lu Hong Qiang played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustav Vinström in the 73rd minute of play. In the 75th minute Mattias Svan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lu Hong Qiang saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mattias Svan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lu Hong Qiang having to interfere. After having played for 85 minutes, Islam Slimani managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mauro's supporters crossed their fingers, but Islam Slimani was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mauro's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
