REAL VASCO RIO's Percival Prestes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hermínio Maia in the 19th minute of play. Percival Prestes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Hermínio Maia went, in the 20th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Hermínio Maia could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Percival Prestes made a huge save. In the 47th minute, Caco de Souza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 48 minutes, Valdir Teixeira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dragões de Campo Grande's supporters crossed their fingers, but Valdir Teixeira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Pedrão Souza stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Dragões de Campo Grande's goal looked a bit too open when Pedrão Souza came free, but Ricardinho Moreira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ricardinho Moreira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pedrão Souza, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ricardinho Moreira showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 60 played minutes, REAL VASCO RIO's José Pedro Simão shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ricardinho Moreira came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in REAL VASCO RIO reached it. In the 70th minute, Horácio Damião made a precise shot to the right of Ricardinho Moreira. Dragões de Campo Grande's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. In the 73rd minute, REAL VASCO RIO's Horácio Damião ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ricardinho Moreira. Ricardinho Moreira yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-3. In the 78th minute Pedrão Souza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ricardinho Moreira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 80 played minutes REAL VASCO RIO got a freekick which was hit by José Pedro Simão. Hermínio Maia's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Percival Prestes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 87th minute of play. After some careless play in the REAL VASCO RIO defense, Hermínio Maia kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Percival Prestes. The REAL VASCO RIO fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Percival Prestes should have stopped the shot. Léo Donatello struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Percival Prestes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Dragões de Campo Grande. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
