After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Roy Makaay managed to get in a good position for a shot. Villaverde Celeste Clube's supporters rose to their feet, but Roy Makaay was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Antonello Ranieri breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Roy Makaay sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Antonello Ranieri showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roy Makaay, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. If Roy Makaay had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 34 minutes into the match, Stintino FC's goalkeeper Antonello Ranieri had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Roy Makaay. Stintino FC's Antonello Ranieri played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roy Makaay in the 36th minute of play. Antonello Ranieri showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roy Makaay, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Antonello Ranieri made an important save on a dangerous shot by Roy Makaay in the 40th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Iezzi in the 45th minute of play forced Villaverde Celeste Clube's goalkeeper Nenko Reza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Arrigo Iannucci to make the kick off. When Stintino FC's Arrigo Iannucci in the 51st minute got a chance for a shot 51st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Villaverde Celeste Clube's goalie prevented a goal. Stintino FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Villaverde Celeste Clube the free kick. After 58 minutes, Augusto De Nardis mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Stintino FC and the Villaverde Celeste Clube players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 58 played minutes Stintino FC got a freekick which was hit by Augusto De Nardis. Antonello Ranieri showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roy Makaay, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. After 75 played minutes Stintino FC got a freekick which was hit by Augusto De Nardis. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kıraç Uskan in the 76th minute of play forced Stintino FC's goalkeeper Antonello Ranieri to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 78th minute Kıraç Uskan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antonello Ranieri saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kıraç Uskan might have been able to make a better finish in the 80th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Antonello Ranieri. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kıraç Uskan ran back to his position shaking his head. Alex Rizzo hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. After 85 minutes of play, Villaverde Celeste Clube's Kıraç Uskan made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Antonello Ranieri was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 88th minute Kıraç Uskan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antonello Ranieri saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 88 minutes into the match, Kıraç Uskan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Antonello Ranieri. Stintino FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kıraç Uskan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. Villaverde Celeste Clube's Eduardo Angulo managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Alberto Iezzi in the 92 minute of the game. Villaverde Celeste Clube's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
