A hard shot 3 in the game by Comunardo Valente from a close distance when the talented Thomás Proença managed to make a qualified save. Maricá FC's players were relieved. 5 minutes into the game, Velester Football Club's Adriano Carafa nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Thomás Proença made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Thomás Proença showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adriano Carafa in the 8th minute of the match. Thomás Proença made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adriano Carafa in the 14th minute of play. Emiliano Pezzi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ferdinando Scarinci having to interfere. Paulo Renato Rosado made in the 19th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Velester Football Club's Stephan Wehkamp. Thomás Proença came out of the goal in the 20th minute to try and stop a shot by Velester Football Club's Adriano Carafa. But to his dismay, Adriano Carafa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Thomás Proença took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adriano Carafa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Anselmo Baleren struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Thomás Proença didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Velester Football Club. Arkadiusz Piglowski could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Thomás Proença made a huge save. The supporters of Maricá FC booed when Velester Football Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anselmo Baleren didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Maricá FC's Thomás Proença got control of the ball when Comunardo Valente tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thomás Proença showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adriano Carafa, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Tomás Peres kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. Adriano Carafa had several of the Maricá FC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 44 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 4-0 score and a disappointed Thomás Proença as he didn't even see the shot coming. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Comunardo Valente made the kick off in the second half. In the 50th match minute, Maricá FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomás Peres to maneuver through the defense. Maricá FC's Thomás Proença played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adriano Carafa in the 53rd minute of play. In the 56th minute, Comunardo Valente left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Velester Football Club fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. Velester Football Club's Antonio Gulli was substituted for Pietro Romeo. 59 minutes into the match, Maricá FC's goal looked a bit too open when Adriano Carafa came free, but Thomás Proença reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Velester Football Club were awarded a corner in the 61th minute after Maricá FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Emanuel Gliga took the corner. The corner led to Velester Football Club's Antonio Gulli getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. If Adriano Carafa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Thomás Proença showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adriano Carafa, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. The Velester Football Club fans' excitement grew in the 68th match minute when Velester Football Club's Adriano Carafa looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 6-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Velester Football Club's Amos Marchesani was substituted for Betão Camargo. Antonio Gulli sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 78 minutes into the game, one of Maricá FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Thomás Proença stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Comunardo Valente's shot from short distance in the 84th minute. 87 minutes into the match, Comunardo Valente notched a goal, 8-0, to the right of Maricá FC's Thomás Proença. Thomás Proença was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Thomás Proença made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adriano Carafa in the 90th minute of play. The throw-in from Tomé Sá in the 92nd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Velester Football Club's Arkadiusz Piglowski. Thomás Proença came out of the goal in the 93rd minute to try and stop a shot by Velester Football Club's Comunardo Valente. But to his dismay, Comunardo Valente quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 9-0. Adriano Carafa hit a great freekick 98 minutes into the match. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Velester Football Club had played much better football throughout.
