The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Valdo Prado could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 5th minute of the match, but Ilias Seichanidis made a huge save. 5 minutes into the match, Jon Loarte notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of ΟΦΗ's Ilias Seichanidis. Ilias Seichanidis was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Clóvis Reis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nasos Papadis, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. After some careless play in the Leon Sport Club defense, Apostolis Kalopoulos kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Clóvis Reis. The Leon Sport Club fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Clóvis Reis should have stopped the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Augusto Landero in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Clóvis Reis saved Leon Sport Club from getting behind. In the 21st match minute, Leon Sport Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rodriguinho Perez to maneuver through the defense. Ilias Seichanidis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valdo Prado in the 23rd minute of play. If Augusto Landero had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rodriguinho Perez got free with Ilias Seichanidis in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Giovanni Massa came free with the goalkeeper in the 35th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Ilias Seichanidis could save by the left post. With an all-out effort, Leon Sport Club's Ilias Seichanidis threw himself towards the right post 42 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Jon Loarte, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Augusto Landero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 48 minutes into the match, ΟΦΗ's goal looked a bit too open when Jon Loarte came free, but Ilias Seichanidis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jon Loarte made a kick off. In the 51st minute, Fulvio Forlani hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Leon Sport Club were awarded a corner in the 55th minute after ΟΦΗ's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ingvar Kollberg took the corner. After taking down the ball on Leon Sport Club's corner Ingvar Kollberg fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Ilias Seichanidis quite easily take care of the ball. If Rafinha Silva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Augusto Landero's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Clóvis Reis was relentless in the 64th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valdo Prado in the 70th minute of play forced ΟΦΗ's goalkeeper Ilias Seichanidis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ilias Seichanidis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Giovanni Massa, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Luca Codrea hit a great ball. 2-2 became the score in the 84th minute when Davi Alexandridis elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. The Leon Sport Club supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching ΟΦΗ's performance. The match ended with a win for ΟΦΗ.
