Hugo Buskermolen ran over to the corner to take the kick. After having played for 33 minutes, Dan Tăgorean managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ASV Muziekwijk's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dan Tăgorean was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. ASV Muziekwijk's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Hugo Buskermolen in the 36th minute. The corner led ASV Muziekwijk's Segundo Perpinya to fire away a dangerous shot which Marcelo Lomba despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The supporters of Esporte Club Bahia booed when ASV Muziekwijk was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maarten Steffens didn't get a good kick on the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Luiz Gustavo Paes was the one to do the kick off. The audience was convinced that Segundo Perpinya's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marcelo Lomba was relentless in the 51st minute of the game.
