Spectators: 147 (Terracing: 111, Seating: 34, VIP seats: 2) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Miguel Van Mechelen got the match started through his kick off. 5 minutes into the match, Polar Ice Caps's goal looked a bit too open when Miguel Van Mechelen came free, but Henry Blom reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. YR Mechelen's Andries Van Mechelen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maximiliano Eron in the 8th minute of play. In the 23rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Polar Ice Caps's goalkeeper Henry Blom, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Henry Blom made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miguel Van Mechelen in the 26th minute of play. Maximiliano Eron blasted a shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Andries Van Mechelen having to make a save. YR Mechelen's Andries Van Mechelen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maximiliano Eron in the 30th minute of play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 32nd minute of the game. One of Polar Ice Caps:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of YR Mechelen:s goal. Ralf Nyberg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 39th minute, Alan Wirinckx hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Andries Van Mechelen made an important save on a dangerous shot by André Botvidsson in the 40th minute. Henry Blom took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Miguel Van Mechelen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Maximiliano Eron to make the kick off. Henry Blom made an important save on a dangerous shot by Diederik Van Mechelen in the 52nd minute. Diederik Van Mechelen's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Henry Blom firmly grabbed it by the left post. After 57 played minutes Polar Ice Caps got a freekick which was hit by Jack Lundblad. Polar Ice Caps made a substitution. Sivert Sander replaced Jack Lundblad. 66 minutes into the game, Wiktor Ugla threw the ball into play from the sideline. YR Mechelen's Jamie Van Mechelen quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. When Jamie Van Mechelen fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored YR Mechelen's protests and gave Jamie Van Mechelen a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Polar Ice Caps booed when YR Mechelen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jamie Van Mechelen didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sivert Sander in the 75th minute of play forced YR Mechelen's goalkeeper Andries Van Mechelen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Henry Blom was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Diederik Van Mechelen showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-1 in the 82 minute of play. With a little luck, Polar Ice Caps's Henry Blom got control of the ball when Miguel Van Mechelen tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 91st minute Jörn Lidström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andries Van Mechelen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 94th minute Miguel Van Mechelen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Henry Blom saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jamie Van Mechelen was shown his second yellow card after 94 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 95th minute, Jamie Van Mechelen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The YR Mechelen supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing YR Mechelen would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
