Faustão de Moraes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nickolai Nickerson went, in the 7th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Oscar Lara made in the 15th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Hernani Palmeira immediately put the ball in play. Nickolai Nickerson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Faustão de Moraes having to make a save. 17 minutes into the match, Ciseski‘s's goal looked a bit too open when Nickolai Nickerson came free, but Faustão de Moraes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Roberto Romário 20 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-1. Faustão de Moraes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nickolai Nickerson in the 23rd minute of the match. When Morgan Möllgren fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's protests and gave Morgan Möllgren a yellow card for diving instead. Morgan Möllgren hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. 26 minutes into the match, Roberto Romário notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's Eric Soned. Eric Soned was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Edmond Boureau could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Eric Soned made a huge save. Oscar Lara made in the 30th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Hernani Palmeira immediately put the ball in play. When Carlo Ancelotti came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Étoile Sportive Du Sahel fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carlo Ancelotti couldn't finish the play. In the 38th minute Nickolai Nickerson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Faustão de Moraes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 40 minutes into the match, Ciseski‘s's goal looked a bit too open when Jim Njurenius came free, but Faustão de Moraes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Faustão de Moraes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlo Ancelotti, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Carlo Ancelotti took the ball and in the 47 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Faustão de Moraes. Faustão de Moraes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Roberto Romário made the kick off in the second half. In the 55th match minute, Ciseski‘s was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Thiago Silvar to maneuver through the defense. Salvador Caeiro kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. In the 56th minute, Radu Fetea got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Faustão de Moraes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nickolai Nickerson in the 57th minute. In the 61st minute the ball was on its way in behind Ciseski‘s's goalkeeper Faustão de Moraes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's Valentin Elg was substituted for Radu Fetea. 66 minutes into the game, Nickolai Nickerson recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Faustão de Moraes. Nickolai Nickerson showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-4. The crowd rose to their feet as Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's Nickolai Nickerson slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Faustão de Moraes. That made the score 2-5 after 70 minutes of play. Faustão de Moraes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nickolai Nickerson, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. The referee felt a red card was in order, 76 minutes into the game, when Salvador Caeiro put in a rough tackle. After a rather tough play, Ciseski‘s's Salvador Caeiro got a free kick in the 77th minute. Dé Recife's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eric Soned read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 79th minute of play. In the 81st minute, Jim Njurenius ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Faustão de Moraes was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-6. Jim Njurenius recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nickolai Nickerson got free with Faustão de Moraes in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Nickolai Nickerson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Faustão de Moraes made a huge save. Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
