Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The Buenaventura FC fans' excitement grew in the 37th match minute when Buenaventura FC's Walter Bock looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 44th match minute, Buenaventura FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Miguel Urane to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by David Malsepica in the 47th minute of play forced Buenaventura FC's goalkeeper Carlos Eduardo Ramos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Walmyr Queirós took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from André-Pierre Gignac, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Albérico Neto was the one to do the kick off. When the match had gone on for 67 minutes, Gilson Quadros took a quick shot and it went in 1-3 without a chance for Carlos Eduardo Ramos to make any attempt to save it. Carlos Eduardo Ramos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gilson Quadros in the 76th minute of the match.
