The referee felt a red card was in order, 35 minutes into the game, when Bradley Boisvert put in a rough tackle. 41 minutes into the match, Quebec city FC's goal looked a bit too open when Torbjörn Tingberg came free, but Carlos Whitmore reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

When Newton Dennison fell near the penalty area in the 97th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Quebec city FC's protests and gave Newton Dennison a yellow card for diving instead.
