Dirch Glerum was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. John-Arne Riise hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. 13 minutes into the match, Hønning's goal looked a bit too open when Jozef Šagáth came free, but Dirch Glerum reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dirch Glerum had in the 33rdth minute some difficulties stopping Gong Yang's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Dirch Glerum made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Blas Soter in the 36th minute of play. Thanks to some nice moves Per Nørbjerg could shoot a difficult shot in the 37th minute, which Róbert Behúň however easily saved by the left post. Dirch Glerum stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Blas Soter's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. In the 42nd minute Blas Soter shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dirch Glerum saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Blas Soter struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Dirch Glerum didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Kukova. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell John-Arne Riise to make the kick off. After 54 played minutes Hønning got a freekick which was hit by Simon Svanström. Simon Svanström kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. 73 minutes into the match, Hønning's goalkeeper Dirch Glerum had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Blas Soter. In the 74th minute of the match FC Kukova got a corner. Hønning's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. The supporters of Hønning booed when FC Kukova was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Basilio Urti didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hønning's Dirch Glerum proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 96th minute of the match, managed to save Hønning from getting a goal against them.
