The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zhao Yao Ying in the 3rd minute of play forced HALO HANGZHOU's goalkeeper Du Jie Ran to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Guo Han Di made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Desislav Sergeev in the 6th minute of play. In the 8th minute HALO HANGZHOU were awarded a corner. Wang Chen Hong went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 9th minute Desislav Sergeev shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guo Han Di saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 16thth minute of the game Lin Yu Hai who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Oldham Athletic's Guo Han Di was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to HALO HANGZHOU getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Mai Tian Wei hit a great ball. Du Jie Ran showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zhao Yao Ying, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Guo Han Di made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Desislav Sergeev in the 20th minute of play. A collision led to HALO HANGZHOU getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Mai Tian Wei hit a great ball. In the 23rd minute Lin Yu Hai shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guo Han Di saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 25 minutes had been played when some careless play by Oldham Athletic's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Wang Chen Hong was slow to take the kick. During this time HALO HANGZHOU's players had a chance to rest. Zhao Yao Ying could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Du Jie Ran made a huge save. A nice corner shot did that Desislav Sergeev got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Guo Han Di quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 33 minutes into the match, Zhao Yao Ying had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Du Jie Ran. HALO HANGZHOU's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Zhao Yao Ying was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. In the 36thth minute of the game Desislav Sergeev who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Oldham Athletic's Guo Han Di was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Qian Lin Yu in the 43rd minute of play forced Oldham Athletic's goalkeeper Guo Han Di to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Oldham Athletic booed when HALO HANGZHOU was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lin Yu Hai didn't get a good kick on the ball.

In the 60th minute, Cristian-Federico Dolić made a precise shot to the right of Du Jie Ran. HALO HANGZHOU's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bo-Erik McNamara during the 66th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Bo-Erik McNamara hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. Oldham Athletic's Sune Axelsson was substituted for Cristian-Federico Dolić. Du Jie Ran came out of the goal and Valter Abrahamsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When HALO HANGZHOU's Bo-Erik McNamara in the 74th minute got a chance for a shot 74th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Oldham Athletic's goalie prevented a goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bo-Erik McNamara in the 75th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Guo Han Di prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 80 minutes into the match, Oldham Athletic's goalkeeper Guo Han Di had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bo-Erik McNamara. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zhao Yao Ying in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Du Jie Ran saved HALO HANGZHOU from getting behind. When Lin Yu Hai came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the HALO HANGZHOU fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lin Yu Hai couldn't finish the play. When HALO HANGZHOU's Bo-Erik McNamara in the 87th minute got a chance for a shot 87th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 89th minute, Zhao Yao Ying left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Oldham Athletic fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-3. Zhao Yao Ying received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Du Jie Ran tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Guo Han Di took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bo-Erik McNamara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Du Jie Ran came out of the goal in the 95th minute to try and stop a shot by Oldham Athletic's Zhao Yao Ying. But to his dismay, Zhao Yao Ying quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-3. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Oldham Athletic had won after a very even match.
