In the 20th minute, Grêmio Prudente's Lucrețiu Grigore ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Hemming Tjørnum. Hemming Tjørnum yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Caminiaga's supporters crossed their fingers, but Osvaldo Iago was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Grêmio Prudente's Pedro Augusto Sena got a free kick in the 94th minute. Grêmio Prudente walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
