The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The AFC Ajax fans' excitement grew in the 4th match minute when AFC Ajax's Nikos Sterpis looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nikos Sterpis in the 9th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Erland Söderberg saved Fomac FK from getting behind. 11 minutes had been played when some careless play by Fomac FK's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Aleksander Petka was slow to take the kick. During this time AFC Ajax's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Aleksander Petka got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Erland Söderberg quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nikos Sterpis in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Erland Söderberg saved Fomac FK from getting behind. Erland Söderberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nikos Sterpis, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Nikos Sterpis scored 0-2 in the 20th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Erland Söderberg, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Erland Söderberg stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nikos Sterpis's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Armando Paraibano was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute, AFC Ajax's German Sarracino ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Erland Söderberg. Erland Söderberg yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-4. Jonny Brattås kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. AFC Ajax's Aureo Morera was substituted for German Sarracino. AFC Ajax's Markos Seremetidis was substituted for Nikos Sterpis. After a rather tough play, Fomac FK's Jonny Brattås got a free kick in the 57th minute. After 58 minutes of play, AFC Ajax's Markos Seremetidis made it 0-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Erland Söderberg was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some careless play in the Fomac FK defense, Markos Seremetidis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Erland Söderberg. The Fomac FK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Erland Söderberg should have stopped the shot. Robert Vollander's late challenge caught a AFC Ajax's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Robert Vollander helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Fomac FK's Robert Vollander got a free kick in the 66th minute. When AFC Ajax's Markos Seremetidis in the 68th minute got a chance for a shot 68th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Robert Vollander was shown his second yellow card after 82 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 83rd minute, Robert Vollander hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match clock showed 88 minutes, the score became 0-10 when Markos Seremetidis sped through Fomac FK's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Erland Söderberg. AFC Ajax's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
