Lawrence Hopson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zygmunt Koprowski having to interfere. 20 minutes into the game, Maxim Sfetcu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Emerson Whaley was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Emerson Whaley took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maxim Sfetcu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of AFC Richmond booed when BVB 09 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Octavian Caragea didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 28th minute, Lawrence Hopson fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Zygmunt Koprowski, passed just outside the right post. The audience thought a goal was coming when David Brochu got free with Zygmunt Koprowski in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 32ndth minute of the game Octavian Caragea who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but AFC Richmond's Emerson Whaley was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Octavian Caragea in the 32nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Emerson Whaley prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 35th match minute, AFC Richmond was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Filip Mladenovič to maneuver through the defense. In the 36th minute Mădălin Penciulescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emerson Whaley saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. AFC Richmond were furious when Carlos Jerardo was red carded, 42 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 42nd minute of the game. One of AFC Richmond:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of BVB 09:s goal.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when David Brochu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Octavian Caragea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 53rd minute Irmantas Zenkevičius shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zygmunt Koprowski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A sloppy throw-in by Ali Can in the 57th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by BVB 09's Mădălin Penciulescu. Emerson Whaley showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maxim Sfetcu, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. When Ali Can fell near the penalty area in the 67th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored AFC Richmond's protests and gave Ali Can a yellow card for diving instead. After 67 played minutes AFC Richmond got a freekick which was hit by Ali Can. BVB 09 made a substitution. Avram Iurea replaced Ioan Balint. After 68 played minutes AFC Richmond got a freekick which was hit by Ali Can. In the 70th minute Maxim Sfetcu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emerson Whaley saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 72 minutes into the match, Maxim Sfetcu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Emerson Whaley. AFC Richmond's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Maxim Sfetcu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. In the 76th minute, Maxim Sfetcu made a precise shot to the right of Emerson Whaley. AFC Richmond's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. AFC Richmond made a substitution. Erin Valencia replaced Ali Can. Emerson Whaley showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Iacob Vernescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. Levi Cronin scored 1-3 in the 90th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Zygmunt Koprowski, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Iacob Vernescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Chants of BVB 09 echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as AFC Richmond had held the ball for most of the match.
