The Unidad de Matanza fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Jonatan Eguzki showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tarcisio Chaves, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. 20 minutes into the game, Unidad de Matanza's Nestor Bâru nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jailson Teles made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Nestor Bâru blasted a shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jailson Teles having to make a save. Lateef Raal struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Jailson Teles didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Unidad de Matanza. The supporters of Unidad de Matanza booed when AVAÍ F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tarcisio Chaves didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alex Sági to make the kick off. When Unidad de Matanza's Nestor Bâru in the 55th minute got a chance for a shot 55th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Unidad de Matanza's Michal Stehno was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 76th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Jailson Teles didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Martin Grøtterud went, in the 82nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-6 was the resulting score. In the 90th minute the ball was on its way in behind AVAÍ F.C.'s goalkeeper Jailson Teles, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Máximo Kirchner in the 92nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jailson Teles prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Unidad de Matanza were awarded a corner in the 93th minute after AVAÍ F.C.'s defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Martin Grøtterud took the corner. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Unidad de Matanza eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
