Topsail's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ- the free kick. In the 11th match minute, Topsail was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dawid Kochowski to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Gilberto Fremont's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Raphael Dantas was relentless in the 13th minute of the game. Raphael Dantas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mihai Vădan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 22 minutes into the match, Topsail's goalkeeper Bill Carmichael had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Zbigniew Zatorski. With a little luck, Topsail's Bill Carmichael got control of the ball when Zbigniew Zatorski tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 25th minute Topsail were awarded a corner. Jelmer Lodewijks went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 26th minute of the match Topsail got a corner. Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ-'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jelmer Lodewijks ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Topsail's Jelmer Lodewijks to fire away a dangerous shot which Raphael Dantas despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The supporters of Topsail booed when Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ- was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tony Thanos didn't get a good kick on the ball. 34 minutes into the match, Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ-'s goal looked a bit too open when Mihai Vădan came free, but Raphael Dantas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind Topsail's goalkeeper Bill Carmichael, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The corner ended in Pedro Luiz Dantas almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Topsail's Bill Carmichael did a great save. After 40 played minutes Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ- got a freekick which was hit by Cenk Bostancı. Raphael Dantas stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gilberto Fremont's shot from short distance in the 41st minute. The supporters of Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ- booed when Topsail was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amancio Cheche didn't get a good kick on the ball. 44 minutes into the match, Simo Mihklisaar had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bill Carmichael. Topsail's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Simo Mihklisaar was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. In the 47th match minute, Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ- was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Laerte Romero to maneuver through the defense. Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ- made a substitution. Mauro Quirino replaced Dobromir Malewicki. A collision led to Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ- getting a freekick after 49 minutes play. Laerte Romero hit a great ball. In the 50th minute, Jelmer Lodewijks got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

With a little luck, Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ-'s Raphael Dantas got control of the ball when Amancio Cheche tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 56 minutes Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ-'s defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Jelmer Lodewijks who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Amancio Cheche got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Raphael Dantas quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Tony Thanos hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Zbigniew Zatorski's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bill Carmichael read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 63rd minute of play. In the 64th minute, Gilberto Fremont got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ- made a substitution. Giovani Luz replaced Laerte Romero. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zbigniew Zatorski in the 68th minute of play forced Topsail's goalkeeper Bill Carmichael to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 72nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Topsail's goalkeeper Bill Carmichael, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Zbigniew Zatorski managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ-'s supporters rose to their feet, but Zbigniew Zatorski was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bill Carmichael breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 86 minutes into the game, Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ-'s Zbigniew Zatorski nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bill Carmichael made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dawid Kochowski got free with Raphael Dantas in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Raphael Dantas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mihai Vădan, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. Zbigniew Zatorski struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. Bill Carmichael didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ-. For all the effort they put into the match, the Topsail players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ-.
