A well-hit corner resulted in Emilio Freire heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nestor Ondino got free with Sixto Fraco in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sixto Fraco made an important save on a dangerous shot by Arnoldo Karmel in the 29th minute. Sixto Fraco made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Arnoldo Karmel sent off a good shot on target. Agustin Dantae hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match.
