In the 19th match minute, FC Pegasas Siauliai was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antanas Pelėda to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Fernanco Peso's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pavel Romanescu was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Jon Iruegas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Miltos Kotsovolos, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Christian Luciano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sporting Cristal's supporters rose to their feet, but Christian Luciano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pavel Romanescu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 孟振邦 hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match.
