Edelmiro Veronica showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Natalio Dominguez, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. In the 4th match minute, ToCoTaN FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rubén Montt to maneuver through the defense. ToCoTaN FC's Edelmiro Veronica played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Natalio Dominguez in the 5th minute of play. Juan Peron kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Clayton Gol in the 12th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Edelmiro Veronica prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 12 minutes into the match, ToCoTaN FC's goal looked a bit too open when Damaso Xacintu came free, but Edelmiro Veronica reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 14th minute of the match Sheriff got a corner. ToCoTaN FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Notis Filippas ran over to the corner to take the kick. 16 minutes into the match, Sheriff's goalkeeper Yahia van der Saar had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Vic Wijnants. Edelmiro Veronica took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Clayton Gol, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 24 minutes into the match, Sheriff's goal looked a bit too open when Simon Wallin came free, but Yahia van der Saar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Clayton Gol's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Edelmiro Veronica read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 26th minute of play. Yahia van der Saar made an important save on a dangerous shot by Vic Wijnants in the 29th minute. Edelmiro Veronica stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Clayton Gol's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. 38 minutes into the game, Simon Wallin cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Yahia van der Saar was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. ToCoTaN FC's Edelmiro Veronica played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Clayton Gol in the 41st minute of play. Natalio Dominguez hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. A collision led to Sheriff getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Cristiano Cordone hit a great ball. After having played for 46 minutes, Vic Wijnants managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ToCoTaN FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vic Wijnants was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Vic Wijnants stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Sheriff's Yahia van der Saar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vic Wijnants in the 51st minute of play. In the 55th minute, Sheriff's Clayton Gol dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. Sheriff's Akakios Trachanas was substituted for Dagan Pavlovic. Sheriff's Iraklis Karasavvidis was substituted for Dragoş Bălace. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Clayton Gol in the 65th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Edelmiro Veronica prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Clayton Gol could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but Edelmiro Veronica made a huge save. After some careless play in the ToCoTaN FC defense, Damaso Xacintu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Edelmiro Veronica. The ToCoTaN FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Edelmiro Veronica should have stopped the shot. The audience was convinced that Clayton Gol's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Edelmiro Veronica was relentless in the 75th minute of the game. 78 minutes into the match, Sheriff's goal looked a bit too open when Mahmut Bilen came free, but Yahia van der Saar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Sheriff's Cristiano Cordone got a free kick in the 80th minute. Yahia van der Saar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Simon Wallin in the 81st minute of the match. Clayton Gol might have been able to make a better finish in the 84th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Edelmiro Veronica. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Clayton Gol ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 85th minute Damaso Xacintu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edelmiro Veronica saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edelmiro Veronica made a fantastic save in the 94th minute, when Clayton Gol sent off a good shot on target. ToCoTaN FC's Edelmiro Veronica played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Damaso Xacintu in the 95th minute of play.
