An unexpectedly hard shot by Mo Salah in the 3rd minute of play forced Golden Hills's goalkeeper Egil Östlund to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Virgil Forbes got a throw-in 6 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Santo Sparks. Mo Salah sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 8 minutes into the match, Golden Hills's goal looked a bit too open when Mo Salah came free, but Egil Östlund reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mo Salah sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Manly FC's Mo Salah got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 19 minutes into the match, Manly FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ward Doran came free, but Ray Clemence reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Egil Östlund stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mo Salah's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. 30 minutes into the game, Sandy Hollandsworth threw the ball into play from the sideline. Manly FC's Fleming Wal quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Paz Trezise kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. Sandy Hollandsworth made in the 40th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Ryan Bellamy immediately put the ball in play. Ryan Bellamy's late challenge caught a Manly FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ryan Bellamy helped the player get up and apologised. Ryan Bellamy hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Mo Salah fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Egil Östlund having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mo Salah in the 45th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Egil Östlund saved Golden Hills from getting behind. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mo Salah made a kick off. Ray Clemence showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ward Doran in the 52nd minute of the match. Fleming Wal could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Egil Östlund made a huge save. In the 56th minute Golden Hills were awarded a corner. Santo Sparks went to the cornerflag to take it. Golden Hills's Santo Sparks was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Ray Clemence in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Mo Salah blasted a shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Egil Östlund having to make a save. In the 66th minute the ball was on its way in behind Golden Hills's goalkeeper Egil Östlund, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 70 minutes into the game, Virgil Forbes threw the ball into play from the sideline. Manly FC's Irving Bonnison quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. If Ward Doran had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Golden Hills getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Sandy Hollandsworth hit a great ball. When the match had gone on for 78 minutes, John Aldridge put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Egil Östlund. After a rather tough play, Manly FC's Clifford Hamilton got a free kick in the 82nd minute. Paz Trezise charged in rather forcefully in the 85th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Paz Trezise the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 87 minutes in the game, John Aldridge fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Egil Östlund having to interfere. Ray Clemence came out of the goal in the 91st minute to try and stop a shot by Golden Hills's Ward Doran. But to his dismay, Ward Doran quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2.
