Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fadhly Haryanto-Ie in the 7th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ernst de Hoop prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a little luck, Original Sabahan's Egil Kilberg got control of the ball when Dennis Bergkamp tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 16th minute, Joko Waluyo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ernst de Hoop was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 22nd match minute, Lemel SV was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dennis Bergkamp to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Manfred Konradsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lemel SV's supporters rose to their feet, but Manfred Konradsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Egil Kilberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manfred Konradsson in the 42nd minute of play. 44 minutes into the match, Original Sabahan's Joko Waluyo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ernst de Hoop narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

If Cristoforo Strazzabosco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 56th minute, Joko Waluyo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Original Sabahan had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
