The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfons Delin in the 52nd minute of play forced Romando Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Rubén-Osvaldo Cousillas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. VfL Wolfsburg's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Jerry Fristedt in the 85th minute. Ubaldo Maillard tried in the 85th minute to hit away a contribution but miss-kicked the ball which ended up in his own goal and left an unhappy Rubén-Osvaldo Cousillas a with quite unnecessary self made goal. Result 4-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alfons Delin in the 90th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rubén-Osvaldo Cousillas saved Romando Futebol Clube from getting behind. VfL Wolfsburg's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
