Tonico Tinoco started the match with the kick off. In the 14th minute Eriberto Miranda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Danilo Aires saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Inter Miami CF's Tonico Tinoco slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Danilo Aires. That made the score 1-0 after 19 minutes of play. Inter Miami CF's Tonico Tinoco got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Margarita's Danilo Aires proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to save Margarita from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Erasmo Lekubegi got free with Danilo Aires in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Inter Miami CF booed when Margarita was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Severo Rivero didn't get a good kick on the ball. 39 minutes into the match, Margarita's goalkeeper Danilo Aires had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Guaberto Paio. After 43 minutes, Tonico Tinoco mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Inter Miami CF and the Margarita players grew even worse after the yellow card. Tonico Tinoco kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. Zhang Zhou Lin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jean-Philippe Al Abdullah having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Higinio Urti to strike the kick off in the second half. Erasmo Lekubegi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Severo Rivero received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Jean-Philippe Al Abdullah tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Inter Miami CF made a substitution. Mauro Liher replaced Guaberto Paio. After 58 played minutes Inter Miami CF got a freekick which was hit by Tonico Tinoco. Blas Giunta hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Erasmo Lekubegi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Danilo Aires tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jean-Philippe Al Abdullah showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luciano Mon in the 63rd minute of the match. Margarita's Danilo Aires played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Justo Montrel in the 65th minute of play. In the 65th minute Justo Montrel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Danilo Aires saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 68 minutes, Román Riquelme managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Inter Miami CF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Román Riquelme was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 74 minutes into the match, Inter Miami CF's goalkeeper Jean-Philippe Al Abdullah had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Evelio Medardo. A collision led to Margarita getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Olov Wallgren hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Inter Miami CF's zone, Higinio Urti stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jean-Philippe Al Abdullah came out of the goal and Higinio Urti tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Luciano Mon managed to get in a good position for a shot. Margarita's supporters rose to their feet, but Luciano Mon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jean-Philippe Al Abdullah breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Danilo Aires took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Román Riquelme, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 91 minutes Margarita's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Justo Montrel who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Inter Miami CF's Justo Montrel to fire away a dangerous shot which Danilo Aires despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Luciano Mon who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 93rdth minute tested the skills of Jean-Philippe Al Abdullah when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 95th match minute, Inter Miami CF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lars Ek to maneuver through the defense.
