When Luca Postelnicescu came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Vila Nova FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luca Postelnicescu couldn't finish the play. Fiori Mota made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anselmo Maule in the 22nd minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mete Nared got free with Elvio Lohitzun in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Elvio Lohitzun took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vladimir Lara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Vladimir Lara in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Elvio Lohitzun prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With an all-out effort, Vila Nova FC's Elvio Lohitzun threw himself towards the right post 33 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Luca Postelnicescu, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Vila Nova FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Rubens Senna in the 34th minute. The corner led Vila Nova FC's Mete Nared to fire away a dangerous shot which Elvio Lohitzun despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. When Luca Postelnicescu came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Vila Nova FC fans jumped to their feet. After some careless play in the Salinas FC defense, Mete Nared kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Elvio Lohitzun. The Salinas FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Elvio Lohitzun should have stopped the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luca Postelnicescu in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Elvio Lohitzun saved Salinas FC from getting behind. Vila Nova FC were awarded a corner in the 44th minute after Salinas FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Rubens Senna took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Rubens Senna got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Elvio Lohitzun quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Adan Frechoso hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. Elvio Lohitzun showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rubens Senna in the 47th minute of the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ambrosio Frasco stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Elvio Lohitzun didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Vladimir Lara went, in the 54th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. Vladimir Lara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elvio Lohitzun having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luca Postelnicescu in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Elvio Lohitzun saved Salinas FC from getting behind. 5-0 became the score in the 62nd minute when Mete Nared elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Vladimir Lara scored 6-0 in the 65th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Elvio Lohitzun, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 68 minutes into the match, Salinas FC's goal looked a bit too open when Vladimir Lara came free, but Elvio Lohitzun reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 69th minute, Vladimir Lara left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Vila Nova FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 7-0. Elvio Lohitzun was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The supporters of Vila Nova FC booed when Salinas FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adan Frechoso didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 87th minute, one of Salinas FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Salinas FC. The referee gave Vila Nova FC a penalty, 90 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Rubens Senna, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Salinas FC's Elvio Lohitzun. 9-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Luca Postelnicescu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vila Nova FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Luca Postelnicescu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Elvio Lohitzun breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Vladimir Lara scored 10-0 in the 95th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Elvio Lohitzun, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Vladimir Lara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Elvio Lohitzun tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Vila Nova FC fully deserved thier win.
