The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Bernardo Novaes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Armando Ruano having to make a save. Armando Ruano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bernardo Novaes, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. Bernardo Novaes struck a weak shot in the 5th minute. Armando Ruano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lex Academy. Guarei FC's Armando Ruano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bernardo Novaes in the 7th minute of play. 8 minutes had been played when some careless play by Guarei FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Roman Jursa was slow to take the kick. During this time Lex Academy's players had a chance to rest. Mojmír Houška made a great header on Lex Academy's corner, it was just that Guarei FC's Armando Ruano managed to reach the ball for a save. The audience was convinced that Bernardo Novaes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Armando Ruano was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. When Lex Academy's Bernardo Novaes in the 35th minute got a chance for a shot 35th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Guarei FC's goalie prevented a goal. Armando Ruano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bernardo Novaes in the 37th minute of play. Bernardo Novaes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 46th minute, Paco Arzola hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Betinho Ferreira made a kick off. In the 52nd minute Bernardo Novaes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Armando Ruano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bernardo Novaes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Armando Ruano having to make a save. With a little luck, Guarei FC's Armando Ruano got control of the ball when Bernardo Novaes tried to sneak it across the goal line. Bernardo Novaes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Armando Ruano read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bernardo Novaes in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Armando Ruano prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Edgard Bezerra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 65 minutes into the match, Lex Academy's goal looked a bit too open when Betinho Ferreira came free, but Tomáš Houdek reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bernardo Novaes in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Armando Ruano saved Guarei FC from getting behind. Bernardo Novaes might have been able to make a better finish in the 74th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Armando Ruano. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bernardo Novaes ran back to his position shaking his head. Armando Ruano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bernardo Novaes in the 74th minute of play. Tomáš Houdek made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Betinho Ferreira in the 77th minute of play. Betinho Ferreira took the ball and in the 79 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tomáš Houdek. Tomáš Houdek dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Lex Academy made a substitution. Otmar Schovánek replaced Radomir Wyrostek. In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind Guarei FC's goalkeeper Armando Ruano, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 89th minute Lex Academy were awarded a corner. Roman Jursa went to the cornerflag to take it. After 89 played minutes Lex Academy got a freekick which was hit by Mojmír Houška. Kacper Burdalski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 93 minutes, Bernardo Novaes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lex Academy's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bernardo Novaes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
